With the new, self-sufficient urbanfarm grow rack, Rieber presents a groundbreaking solution for the professional cultivation of microgreens directly at the point of preparation. The system enables the controlled and hygienic cultivation of microgreens and herbs – completely independent of external water or air connections. This raises freshness, quality, and sustainability in the kitchen to a new level.
The self-sufficient urbanfarm grow rack is made of high-quality, rust-proof stainless steel and is specially designed for professional use. Its compact design offers space on four levels, each with five perforated 1/2-sized GN containers, which serve as growing trays. This allows for the cultivation of up to 20 GN containers simultaneously – with an output of approximately 28 kg of microgreens per week or 1,460 kg per year.
The fully integrated irrigation, water, and air filtration system continuously supplies the plants with clean water and filtered air. Automatic temperature control and the precise LED grow light ensure optimal germination and growth conditions at every stage. The closed system provides a hygienic, germ-free environment in which all parameters are constantly monitored. The result: potent, aromatic microgreens of consistent quality – regardless of climate, season, or location.
For maximum food safety, the urbanfarm grow rack is compatible with the digital CHECK HACCP system. In combination with CHECK HACCP, automatic temperature and humidity measurements are performed directly in the device. All data is documented and provides seamless, digital hygiene tracking. Deviations from tolerance values are detected early, and hygiene and cleaning checklists can be stored centrally in the system – for maximum safety and transparency in everyday kitchen operations.
The grow rack also impresses with its everyday handling : The space-efficient stainless steel construction, hygienically perfect surfaces, and easily removable GN containers simplify cleaning and maintenance.
